Pitchcraft undertook the Design and Construction of St George’s Reserve, Sebastopol as part of the 1.4 million dollar project set out by the City of Ballarat to improve the facilities for community user groups.
Pitchcraft was faced with challenging conditions throughout the project including latent contaminated soils as a result of historic land use, as well as a significant periods of adverse weather- exacerbated by local geological factors. Pitchcraft relished the challenge and worked closely with council to overcome the unforeseen circumstances.
Pitchcraft were diligent in designing and operating within the parameters set out by geotechnical consultants, while ensuring primary objectives of designing and building a first class ‘elite’ playing surface were not lost.
Pitchcraft are proud of the final outcome of the dual perched water table soccer fields, where despite numerous unforeseen challenges have been able to provide exceptional playing conditions- fit for use all year round- for the local Vikings FC and other local community user groups.
